Catholicos Aram I met with the Pope and discussed Armenian prisoners

Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia met today with Pope Leo XIV and raised the issue of Armenian prisoners. This was reported by the press office of the Catholicosate.

Aram I also spoke about the right of the Armenians of Artsakh to return under international guarantees, addressed the issue of preserving churches and historical monuments, and emphasized the need for the prompt release of the former leaders of Artsakh.

The Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia also spoke about the current situation in Lebanon, stressing the importance of Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon and the maintenance of the ceasefire.

The Pope expressed his support for the issues mentioned.
